WHAT: A 6-week performance course immerses students in some of the more contemporary vocal techniques used by some of their most favorite artists. Each week during the 90 minute class, students will individually perform a song of their choice in front of their peers and receive group feedback as well as direction from vocal nerd and expert voice coach, Iari Melchor. Emphasis is on practical vocal technique that may be immediately implemented for dramatic improvement, and Iari will break down and teach the “ABCs of singing” (Amplifier shape, Breath management, vocal Cord closure) that lead to true vocal freedom and artistic expression.
WHEN: 7:00PM on Thursdays. First class is March 22nd and runs consecutive weeks until the final class, held on April 26th.
WHO: This class is for anyone aged 12 - 17 years old and is looking to improve their singing in contemporary music styles (Rock, Pop, Jazz, Soul, RnB...and, yes, music theatre, too!). No prior performance experience needed, just a courageous attitude and a willingness to perform, and learn how to perform, in front of others. No formal music theory education is required, but is helpful. This class is an excellent primer into the world of voice and music, and is a fun way to learn how to creatively express and develop your artistry in a safe and nurturing environment. Space is extremely limited, only 8 students allowed per class-course.
COST: $240 - Please note that there are no make-up classes for absences, and no refunds after the 1st class.
